AnnlnnrrNeerotm'r.
To all whom t may concern:
Be it known that I, FRANKH. Gines, of Portland, in the county gof `Multnomah and State of Oregon, havev invented a certain new and useful Drinking-Forint, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to that class/of drin ing founts` that is more particularly adapted to use in supplying drinking water to poultry and the like, and theinvention primarily has for its-object to provide a fount ,that includes a main .reservoir from which the wateris lpiped to a drinkingcup, the inlet towhich is water-sealed, constant depth of water in thecup is maintained so that the Water in vthe main reservoir will be kept free from contamination andoniy supplied to the cup in proportion to the amount of water taken therefrom.
Another obj ect ofthe invention is toprovide a device of the nature stated, that is simple in construction, cheap to manufac ture, has few parts, may be readily transorted or hung up, and 1n which the drinking cup may be swungtovarious positions while the device is hung upon a suitable suport. P The inventionincludes those-novel details of construction, combination and arrange# ments, of parts, all. of which will be first fully described, and then be specifically pointed out in the appended claims reference eing h'ad to the accompanying drawings, in whichz- Figure 1 is a perspective view of the device. Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the main reservoir being transported to aplace to be lled with water.- Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the drinking cup,'tl1e main reservoir engaging cup, and the. connecting pipe between the same. Eig. i is a vertical longitudinal section of the device.- is an inverted plan view showin drinking cup may sitions. Fig. 6 is-a detail perspective vlew of the hanger of the main reservoir.
'-7 intendesse In the drawings which iikenumerns Y an* letters of reference indicate like parts in all of the figures, 1 designpltes the mam reservoir which is in the-form of acan having a dat closed 'end 3 andthe 'conilform end 2 which carries the outlet out 5.
' at 6to'lthe can 1 whereby a 'ia support, say in Y. Figs vthe art.
seal, and a carrying ba.
at the end 3 and by means ofwhich the device may he `transported when lled from place to place.
Sis a wire hanger the can near the end Band providedV with loops that may be ears 4 on the end 2 of the can by means of Patented Apr. 15, 1913.
member secured at 10 tofitted over nails or screws .o n a support to'l sustain 'the device. in posi'- .tion, 11 designates a second bail Secured to whichl the can 1 may be carried from placeto place in the ordinary usual manner when 1t 1s desired to carry the same to a desired `place for' purposes of lling the can.
designed toreceive the which 1s spout 5 in close contact .and the cup 12 is held in position indicated in the drawings.- `The cup 12 has over which one end of a pipe 13 is secured, and the pipe 13 is secured to tlieinlet port 15 of therdrinking cup 16 belowthe upper open end of the same so that the port .15 will bewater-sealed when the' device is in use.
In practice,.when the device is secured to the manner indicated in 1 and 6, the cup 16 circle through approximately 150 to 160 by swinging the same on the spout 5. as a pivot, thereby permittingv the drinking'cup 16-to be located in a -position as maybe found most desirable.
From the foregoing 'description taken in connection `With the accompanying vdrawings, it is thought the complete construction, operation andadvantag ofthe invention adily apparent, to, those skilled in will be re on the spout 5 by the bailll 'which is' swingable over the cup 12 as clearly may be swung in a 1.; A-clo'sed main reservoir having a dis? charge spout at one end, -a c up swivellyfitted over said spout, a cup, a pipe connecting-said cups and-mc n nrngA downwardly from said spoutreceiving. cu tosaid drinking cup to 'conveythe .A m I the'spout receiving cup to the cup and discharging into .said drinking cup below thelevel of its 'trip end -of said reservoirT Aa ble over said siout engagingcnp to hold lt-inplace. V2. 1105 can having 'a funnel shapedlbottom including a dischagespout at' one end, two
` vcups, apipejoiigiing saidcups,=one of said cups a water seal substantially` and deend, two cups, an inclinedadjustedtosnug yt swivelly oven-'said spout` scribed. .i Y and the other cup'serving as a drinking` cup, 5.. A closed main reservoir, 'having a dissaid.. pipe where .it delivers into lsaid rinkcharge spout at one end, a cup telesopically 35 ing cup being watersealcd, fmeans for refitted over and! swivelly mounted on said taining said spout receiving cup on said spout, a releasab'le retaining device secured spoutsaid pipe inclining downwardly froml to said v.reservoir and projectingA under said said spout engaging cup to said drinking cup to keep it from separating from sald 31P-- 1 '-j spout, a.drinking cup,'a pipe connecting 40 -3. In a drinking fount, a rcservoi-i' having spout receiving fcup* on' said spout, said a funnelshaped discharge end terminating v, to'lsaid can.-
