In a freight car construction, the combination with an end structure, of a pair of braces for the same secured to the end structure at the middle, one extending diagonally upward and anchored to the upper part of the frame of the car, and the other extending diagonally downward and anchored to the lower part of the car structure, and a third diagonal brace secured to the upper corner of the end structure and extending diagonally downward and anchored to the lower part of the car structure.
