This invention, which generally relates to cooking appliances, more particularly has for its object to provide a simple', inexpensive and easily manipulated means useful for cooking fruit contained in the conventional forms of jars, and my said invention.

My invention comprises a boiler or holding Vessel, of suitable shape in horizontal plan, but preferably of oval shape, as shown and it consists of the bottom or jar receiver 10 and the cover 11, both having lhandles 10a-11, the cover being also provided with a flange 12 for slipping down into the top of the receiver 10 to make a tight joint when the cover is put in place.

The braces 22 are secured to the wire cloth top 20 by hooking the legends therein and the said cloth -20 is secured to the rim 21 by clenching the edges thereover. By forming the bottom' tray in .the manner shown and described, provision is made for supjar trays or tom of the boiler to permit a 'full circulation of the hot water under and around the bottom of the said jars.

In practice a number of the trays 5 go with each boiler who-sc rings or guides 51 are of different diameters for receiving pint, quart or two quart jars. To support the receiving trays a suitable distance above the bottom tray the several trays 5 have pendent or leg portions 55.

Inthe preferred construction of my in vention the trays 5 are formed of'a single str nd of Wire that is bent to shape so as to orm the several ring or loop portions, the rim and the leg members,l as is clearly shown in the drawings, and in bending, the several ring portions are interlaced, as at 5 6, which gives the entire tray body a rigid and firm shape, as also 'holding the said rings 51 'in a relatively fixed position.

In Fig. 5 I have shown the tray 5 as composed of an outer or rim wire 57, within which is located a series of wide independently formed rings 58 that are coupled to each other' and to the rim wire 57, by'fbent metal clips 59. In this latter form the leg portionsare separate pieces of wire bent to shape and whose ends are clenched on the porting the jars` -l siifiiciently above botrim wire 57 to form hinged connections, so. 90

the legs can be readily folded up in the horizontal plane of the tray to facilitate the packing of the parts. i

From the foregoing description taken in connection with the drawing the advantages and the manner in which my invention can be used will be readily apparent. The same being of a very simple structure and the parts easily assembled the cooker can be quickly set in position for use, it being apparent from Fig. 1 of the drawings that the cover or'boiler top while sufficiently above the top of the jars to allow for a free circulation of steam into the jar mouths,.the said top forms a guard for holding the jars from movingup out of the rings 5 during,r cooking and since the trays 5 are located near the bottom tray 2, they form the guides or receivers for the jars and engage them suliciently high above the bottom to eect positive side supports for the said jar.

W'hatl claim is:
