.To aZZ whom, it may concern Be it known that JOHN B, Moonr, a citizen of the United States, residing at B elmore, in the county of Clay and State of Florida, haveinvented new and useful Improvements in Tables for Steamships, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to tables and more particularly to self leveling tables.

The principal object of the invention is to provide a simple and, efficient device of this character whereby the table top will be automatically maintained in a level position irrespective of the inclination of the support upon which it is mounted whereby articles \upon the table will be prevented from being thrown from the table ininstances where the table top and its support move in parallel relation.

Further objects of the invention'will appear. as'the following specific description is read in connection with the accompanying drawing which forms apart of this application, and in which a a I Figure l is a side elevation. Fig, 2'is a top plan view with the table top removed.

Referring more particularly to the drawing 1 represents a substantially rectangular open frame supported upon legs 2 depending from each corner of the frame and placed thereto in any suitable manner, arranged inthe center of the frame is a disk or collar 3 'which is connected thereto by flexible members 4 in the form of chains, loops or other similar devices, the flexible member 4 extends from one side of the joint across the same on converging lines to a connection 5 with the frame these members 7 extend from each side of the frame across the plane as shown and each diverging from the connection of the plate to the connection of the frame, the center of'the collar or disk 3 is apertured to receive a vertical shaft passing centrally through the frame and has secured upon its upper end'an ordinary table top 7 of any suitable size, the lower end of the shaft projects below the collar and has adjustably secured thereto a balancing weight 8. v

It is thought that the operation of the device will be clearly understood without fur ther description. It is to be understood, however,- that any modifications may be resorted to in practice without departing from the scope of the invention as defined by the appended claims.

Having thus described the invention, What is claimed new, is

1. A self leveling table comprising a support, aframe, a table top, a shaft depending therefrom and carrying a weight upon its lower end, a disk mounted upon the shaft and flexible connections between the sides of the frame anddisk.

2. In a self leveling table, an open supporting frame, a table top, a shaft depending therefrom and extending centrally through the frame and carrying a weight on its lower end, a disk mounted upon the shaft and flexible supports extending between the sides of the frame and the disk, said support straddling the shaft.

3. In a self leveling table, an open sup porting frame, legs depending from the corners thereof, a table top, a central shaft depending therefrom, a weightadjustably' mounted'upon the end of the. shaft, a, disk mounted upon the shaft between the weight and table top and diverging flexible members connected to the frame and extending across the disk and connected thereto said C.
