To all 'whom it may concern Be it known that EnNsT MAX VUTZLER, deceased, in his lifetime a resident of Schwarzenberg, Saxony, Germany, and a subject of the King of Saxony and Emperor of Germany, previous to his death had invented certain new and useful Im roveinents in Drawing-Pins, of which I, IILDA MARIE VUTZLER, ne-fWEissrLoG, a resident of Schwarzenberg, Saxony, and a subject of the King of Saxony and Emperor o-Grer many, administrator, of the estate of the said late ERNST MAX VUTZLER, present the following full, clear, and exact speciication.
The present invention relates to a drawin pin. The known drawing pins, the point of which is stamped out o the head have hitherto been made in such a manner, that the point is stamped as a straight tapering piece out of the head, and then compressed from the sides so as to have a proper length, as the semi-diameter of the head is not large enough for allowing of stamping the point of the proper length at once lfrom the head. 1
The present invention relates lto a'drawing pin, the point of which is stamped out `at once of the proper length from the head. This is obtained by stamping the point of a r curvedand not of a straight shape. A 4 The accompanying drawing illustrates in' Figure 1 a sectional vlew end in Fig. 2 a plan view of such a drawing pin according to the present invention.
In this drawing a is the head ofjihe drawing pin, b is the point which is bent into a straight line after it has been stamped out of the head a, and 0 is the curved hole in the head, left by stampingout the point b.
Drawing pins of the character here described may of course be made of any size and thickness and also of any suitable material.
Having now described the invention what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States is:
1. The process of forming from a disk a drawing tack or pin having a prong greater than the radius of the disk, which consists in stamping from said disk a tongue of cur-- vilinear shape with its base at the center of said disk, then straightening said tongue and bending it at right angles to one face of said disk.
2. The process of forming from a disk a drawing tack or pin having a prong greater than the radius of the disk, which consists in stamping from said disk a tongue of curved shape, then straightening said tongue and bending it at right angles to oneV face of said disk. i
