To all whom it may comern:
Be it known that I, (lsclvn E. Batman, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the city of De Kalb, county of Deltalb,
5 and State of Illinois, have invented certain and useful Improvements in Core-' Grinding Machines, Isa specification.
My invention relates to improvements in of which the following to a. machine of this character 'hich is adaptedlo taper the ends of cores and thereby render the same of greater utility in the molding processes of a foundry.

\Vith these objects in View my invention consists in the combinations and arrange mcnts of parts all as will be hereinafter described and claimed' My invention will be best understood by reference to the accom mnying drawings forming a part of this specification and in which the figure ing my invention.
The preferred form of construction as illustrated in the accompanying drawing comprises a frame or pair of standards 1 which are rigidly secured to a suitable bench L. The standards l are each providml with a pair of bearings 2 in which are jourualcd shafts 3 and l. the former being a high speed shaft and the latter a power shaft adapted to drive the high speed shaft The shaft 3 is provided with a spur pinion 5 which meshes with a driving spur gear (3 carricd by the shaft l, the construction bcingobriouslr such that the shaft 15 will rotate at a higher speed than lhc shaft 4.
