To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that l, GEORGE W. CAsTLnN, oi St. Louis, in the State of Missouri, have invented certain new and useful improvements in Non-Refillable Bottles, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to an improvement in a non-refillable bottle, the object being to produce a bottle which, after it has once been einpticd'ot its contents, may not be reiilled, and the invention produces a bottle which cannot be refilled without its being broken as there is an absolute seal against normally refilling the bottle,

in these drawings, the numeral 1 represents any ordinary bottle to which the invention is to be applied. The neck 2 of the bottle is made with constricted portion or choke 3 just above the collar 4 of the bottle. in the neck 2, above the constricted portion or choke 3, there is an enlargement 5, and above the enlargement 5 another constricted portion or choke 6, and above this constricted portion or choke 6, the walls of the neck are thin so as to make an interior enlargement 7. Above the enlargement '7 the neck of the bottle may be provided with a swell 8 terminating in a circular shoulder 9, or the neck may be run up straightwithout the swell 8 but having the shoulder 9. Above the shoulder 9 the neck projects, hav ing an upper portion 10 for the reception of an ordinary cork.
Within the neck of the bottle, resting upon the constricted portion or choke 3, there is the stopper 11 made elongated or pear-shaped, that is, with its lower end 12 smaller than its upper end 13. To the lower end 12 of the stopper 11 there is secured by a chain 14 a weight 15. This weight may be of any substance and, it desired, may be covered with glass so that the contents of the bottle cannot be affected. In the neck of the bottle, above the stopper 11, there is placed a second stopper 16 some what similar in shape to the stopper 11 except that the diminished lower end 17 may be made flat, as shown, and not pointed.
Above the enlargement 7 and within the swell 8, there is placed a spring-lock 18. This spring-lock 18 consists of a center 19 and elastic arms 20 center 19.
After the contents of the bottle have been placed therein, the stopper 11 is dropped into place, the weight reaching down into the bottle and its contents and the stopper 11 resting on the constricted portion or choke 3. The stopper 16 is then dropped into place, resting on the constricted portion or choke 6. The spring-lock 18 is then forced down through the portion 10 of the bottle until the upper ends 21 of the elastic arms spring outward and catch under the shoulder 9. The bottle may then be corked.
It will be seen that in a structure like this it will be impossible to refill the bottle. ll hen the contents are poured out, the stopper ll will fall into the enlargement 5 and the stopper 16 into the enlargement 7. The stopper 16 will prevent the stopper 11 from falling down so far into the neck as to withdraw the weight 15 wholly from the body of the bottle. Hence, the slightest lowering movement of the body ot the bottle would cause the weight 15 to draw the stopper 11 down against the constricted portion or choke 3, so that even any attempt to partially fill the bottle, that is after a portion of the contents have been removed and any attempt should be made to add to the remaining contents a fluid of an interior kind, is coin iiletely frustrated, because any attempt to tilt the bottle with a portion of its contents in it and then pour additional tluid therein is prevented by the valve 11 being drawn into place by the weight 15 upon the slightest downward movement of the body of the bottle.
Having described my invention, what I claim is:
1. A bottle a constricted projecting from the having a neck provided with portion or choke ust above the collar of the bottle, an enlargement above the choke, another constricted portion or choke above this enlargement, an enlargement above this second choke, and the neck also provided with a shoulder above this second enlargement in combination with a stopper adapted to lit in the lower enlargement of the neck, a weight attached to the lower end of such stopper and extending into the bot tie, a second stopper above the first stopper and adapted to fitthe first stopper and adapted to fit the upper enlargement of the neck, and a lock above'the second stopper and having elastic arms adapted to catch under the shoulder.
A bottle having a neck provided with a constricted portion or choke just above the collar of the bottle, an enlargement above the choke, another constricted portion or choke above this enlargement, an enlargement above this second choke, and the neck also provided with a shoulder above this second enlargement in combination with an elongated or pear-shaped stopper adapted to fit in the lower enlargement of the neck, a weight attached to the lower end of such stepper and extending into the bottle, a second stopper above the first stopper and adapted to fit the first stopper and adapted to fit the upper enlargement of the neck, and a lock above the second stopper and having elastic arms adapted to catch under the shoulder.
3. A bottle having a neck provided with a constricted portion or choke just above the collar of the bottle, an enlargement above the choke, another constricted portion or choke above this enlargement, an enlargement above this second choke, and the neck also provided with a shoulder above this second enlargement in combination with an elongated or pear-shaped stopper adapted to fit in the lower enlargement of the neck, a Weight attached to the lower end of such stopper and extending into the bottle, a second stopper above the first stopper, such second stopper similar in shape to the first stopper, except that the diminished lower end of the second stopper is made fiat, and adapted to fit the first stopper and adapted to fit the upper enlargement of the neck, and a lock above the second stopper and having elastic arms adapted to catch under the shoulder.
