My invention has relation to draft rig-- gings,'and more particularly to draft riggings of the type describedand'claimed in my Patent No. 673,419, dated May -7, 1901, in -which the yoke instead of extending around the draft springs and followers in a vertical plane, embraces the springs and'followers laterally, and the springs and, followers can be readily removed from the'bottom of the cage or pocket in which they are seated.

"The present invention is designed to provide means of simple and eflective character for securing the'draft rigging to the draft sills of the car, and'also to provide a pocket' for the draft springs and followers which can be readily constructed and from which-v the springs and followers can be readily removed.

The space between the two castings is open at the bottom 'to permit'thes'prings and followers to bereadily removed downwardly, this open portion being normally closedby the detachable plate 12.

' It will be obvious that the exact form and construction of the, parts 7 and 8 may be varled .without departing from my invention, and that other changes may be made in the details of construction and arrangew ment of the parts, withi-n'the scope of the appended claims. I

I claim:

- 1. In a draft rigging, the combination with draft, sills, of two separate pocket forming members separately secured 'be tween and connecting the sills and spaced from each-other longitudinally, said sills connecting the pocket-forming membersto each other, each of said members having upper and lower portions extendmgtransversely-across the ends of the pocket and forming follower, abutments, together with followers arranged to seat against said abutments, substantially as described.
