To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, Si'cUno H. PETERSON, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Maybell, in the county of Moil'ftt and State of Colorado, have invented a new and Improved Folding Camera-Case, of which the following is a full, clear, and-exact description. p

My invention relates generally to carrying cases for folding cameras and more it involves a construction wherein it is not necessary to remove the camera from the case when it is desired to use the camera.

The object of my invention is to provide acarrying'case for folding cameras which is made of few parts and preferably of leather, the case being adapted to contain the camera, one of the sides of the case be ing adapted to be moved relatively to the .case whereby the camera is made available for use, it being unnecessary to take the camera out of the case.

My case is made up of the front 1, the back 2, the top and. bottom 3 and 4 which parts are preferably made of a single piece of medium heavy leather, the height and depth of the case, and the contour of the ends thereof, being such that the ordinary folding camera is adapted to be received therein.

The sides 5, 6, are each preferably made of a double thickness of leather, suitably secured, as bysewing, to the top, bottom, and rear side of the material forming these parts hereinbcfore mentioned.

One of the thicknessesof part of each of 'the sides 5 and 6 is removed whereby the recessed part 7 results, a suitable catch 8 being provided on each side and within the recess which is adapted to coact with a is a partial perspective showing the fiap remote from the case whereby the film button 9 carried by each flap 10, 11, suitably secured to one side of the front member 1;

each of the flaps is of a conformation suited A plate 12, preferably of metal, provided adjacent each of the flaps 10, 11, and the end portions thereof are preferably'upwardly turned, as at 13, whereby the flaps may be braced, the central portion of this plate being free of the member v1 whereby it afiords a convenient means for supporting papers ornotes on which a record of the photographs taken may be kept.

As shown particularly in Fig. 4, the free end of the side' l. is adapted to engage the under outer end of the top member 3 where by when the holding means is in operative position the camera is securely inclosed.

When it is desired to use the camera it is only necessary to unclasp the buttons 9 when the front member 1, being of flexible leather, will readily swing outward, thereby making the frontof the camera available, it being unnecessary to remove the camera from the case.

From the above description it will be seen that I have provided a new and useful case for folding cameras which may be easily carried and which-may be brought into in whereby it may v each of the opposite side portions of the case stantposition for use Without the trouble of first removing the camera from the case as is common in the cases now in use.

Having thus described my invention, I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent l. A new article of manufacture comprising a case for folding cameras, the sides of the said case being of double thicknessand each of the sides being partially removed Wll61Cb a recess is formed, the front of the said case being movable relatively to the other parts thereof, the said front being provided on its inner surface with flaps adapted to be contained within the said recesses, and means for holding the said flaps within the recesses, thereby holding the case in closed position. v

2. As a new article of manufacture, a carrying case for folding cameras having one side thereof movable relatively to the adjacent sides, the outside of each of the said last named sides being provided with re cesscs, fastening devices in the recesses, a plurality of flaps carried on the inside of the said movable side of the case, each of the flaps adapted to be seated within the recesses, and buttons carried by each of the flaps for cooperation with the said fastening devices carried by each of the sides, whereby the said case may beheld in closed position.

3. A carrying case for folding cameras having one side thereof suitably supported be opened, the outside of being provided with recesses, a clasp carried by the inside of each of the said side portions and adjacent the said recesses, a pinrality of flaps suitably secured to the inside of the-said first side of the case, the said flaps being adapted-to engage in the said recesses, buttons carried by each of the flaps for cooperation with the aforesaid Clasps, the said casing being provided with an opeuing whereby the film winding means of the camera is made available, a flap carried on the outside of the said case and adapted to cover the said opening, the said tlap being secured to the case, a ring adapted to be engaged with the carrying strap also secured adjacent the said flap whereby, when the case is carried, the carrying strap will pass adjacent the upper end of the said tiap whereby it may be held in closed position.

4. A carrying case for cameras having an opening in one side thereof whereby the key for winding the film is made accessible, a

-flap secured to that side of thecase and adapted to cover the opening, together with means for attaching a strap to the case, the strap passing adjacent the flap whereby the flap is held in close proximity to the opening.

5. A carrying case for cameras provided with a number of openings whereby the key for winding the film and the button for operating the camera are available, a flap carried by the case adjacent the opening through which the film winding means is accessible, the flap being secured along one edge portion, together with means for carrying the case, the said means engaging the case and extending therefrom. closely adjacent the flap, whereby the flap is maintained in position to cover the said opening.
