Be it known that I, FoR'rUNA'rUs F. SYRA- CUSE, a citizen of the United States, and residing at New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Combination Non-Refillable Bottles and Drinkingcups, of which the following is a specification, such as will enable those skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

This invention relates to bottles and drinking cups, and the object thereof isto provide an improved individual combination device of this class which will be sanitary in construction and use and which will protect consumers against substitution, by retailers, of one liquor for another, and which will protect manufacturers who guarantee their products; a further object being to provide a combination device of the class described which involves the principle of a non-refillable bottle which having been once filled and emptied of its contents cannot be refilled or reused without detection; and with these and other objects in View the invention consists in a device of the class specified constructed as hereinafter described and claimed.

The invention is fully disclosed in the following specification of which the accompanying drawing forms a part, in which the separate parts of my invention are clearly designated by suitable reference characters in each of the views, and in which Figure l is a side view of a flexible and elastic bag or receptacle which I employ Fig. 2 sectional iew of the bag or receptacle, shown in Fig. 1, filled, expanded and sealed;--Fig. 3 a side view of a cup shaped receptacle which I employ, and Fig. 4 a sectional view showing the cup shaped receptacle and the flexible elastic bag or recepta-cle combined, the flexible and elastic bag or receptacle being filled as shown in Fig. 2.

In the practice of my invention I provide a flexible and elastic bag a composed of rubber or any other suitable material and provided with a neck portion a having a central longitudinal bore or passage a I also provide a cup shaped receptacle 1) which, in the form of construction shown, is provided with a base 79 and a standard Z2 and the chamber 5 of which is extended downwardly into the standard 5 to form a supplemental chamber 6 adapted to receive the neck a of the flexible and elastic bag a.

One of the objects of my invention is to provide an individual sanitary combination bottle and drinking cup or receptacle, and in the use of my improvement for this purpose the flexible and elastic bag a is filled with the desired liquor by applying a hose, tube, or similar device to the top part (1* of the neck a and when said receptacle is filled, and after the hose or tube is removed, air is forced into the receptacle to expand the same, as shown in Fig. 2, after which the neck is sealed by wrapping tightly around the same a cord or similar device 0. The inflation of the bagor receptacle as above described makes it spherical in form or approximately so and leaves it only partially filled with liquor, LS shown at d, and the said bag or receptacle is then inserted into the cup 7), as shown in Fig. 4:, and in this operation a suitable cement is applied to the neck (1 and when said neck is inserted into the chamber 12 in the standard 6 of the cup I), and the in flated bag or receptacle into said cup, as shown in said figure, the cement will harden or set in the usual manner and the inflated bag or receptacle a will be secured in the cup and remain therein under all circumstances; and when it is desired to empty the contents of the inflated bag or receptacle the top portion thereof is cut, broken or fractured at any point and the contents may be poured out or said contents may he drank from the cup as will be readily understood; and after the combination bottle and drinking cup has thus been emptied it cannot be refilled or reused without detection.

Although I have described the part a as a receptacle composed of flexible material it will be apparent that the use of flexible material in this connection is not an absolute necessity and said receptacle may be composed of any preferred material, all that is necessary in this connection being that the said receptacle be provided with a neck which is adapted to be closed in any suitable way and to be inserted into the standard I) and supported or secured therein, and it will be understood that my improved combination, non-refillable bottle and drinking cup, is intended for use by manufacturers for their own protection and by whom they are filled and placed upon the market ready for use; and it will also be understood that as a non-refillable bottle or receptacle the device may be used for many other purposes as well as for the purpose herein set out, and changes in and modifications of the construction described may be made, within the scope of the appended claims, without departing from the spirit of my invention or sacrificing its advantages.

Having fully described my invention What I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is l e 1. A combination device of the class described comprising a cup having a hollow standard in communication With the chamber Within the cup, and a flexible and elastic bag having a neck portion adapted to be inserted into said standard and secured there- 1n.

2. A'device of the class described comprising a cup having a hollow standard in communication with the chamber within the cup,

and a flexible and elastic bag provided with a neck, and adapted to be filled with a liquid and to be inflated and the neck sealed, said flexible and elastic bag being adapted to be inverted and inserted into the cup and the neck thereof secured in the standard of the cup.

A package device of the class described, comprising a cup-shaped member and a re ceptacle having a neck adapted to be closed after said receptacle is filled, the neck portlon of said receptacle being inserted into the cup-shaped member and secured therein after said receptacle has been filled and the neck sealed.

4:. A package device of the class described comprising a suitable receptacle having a hollow standard and a supplemental receptacle having a neck portion adapted to be sealed and inserted into said standard.

5. A package receptacle comprising a cup shaped member having a hollow standard and a supplemental receptacle provided with a neck portion adapted to be sealed and inserted into said standard and secured therein.

6. A device of the class described, comprising a cup-shaped receptacle and a flexible and elastic bag adapted to be filled with a liquid inflated and sealed and secured in said receptacle. 4
