Be it kno-Wn that I, EUGEN S'rniNiiAnT, a subject of the German Emperor, residing at 81 Schlossstrasse, Dusseldorf, Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Ammunition-Wagonsg and l do hereby declare the following to be va full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as Will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
Ammunition Wagons in Which the axles pass through the ammunition chests, have the disadvantage, in previously known constructions, that all the space cannot be fully utilized since the axles are in the Way. This fault is remedied in the present invention, by construct-ing the axles ivith recesses or apertures through which the ammunition can be pushed. In this vvay an increased carrying capacity is secured.
Two vieivs of a Wagon constructed according to the invention are shown by Way of example in Figures l and 2, the former being an end elevation, and the latter a` horizontal section. F ig. 3 is a fragmentary enlarged view of the axle. F ig. il is a section on line 4.-4, Fig. 3.
The axle b of the Wheels o is, in the construction shown, of I-shape in cross section. The vertical vveb of the axle is provided rWith apertures c through which the ammunition is pushed. The ammunition chest Z is built around the axle and has partitions e in which similar openings are provided, through which the ammunition can be pushed so as to be supported by the partitions. In the drawing, the cartridges forming the ammunition are disposed horizontally. It is clear that owing to the special construction of the axle, the space in the ammunition chest in front of and behind the axle is used for the reception of the car-- tridges so that-'all the space is utilized.

l. In an ammunition Wagon having an ammunition chest, an axle for the carrying Wheels of the 'Wagon extending through the chest, such axle being provided With recesses extending transversely thereof to accommodate ammunition.
2. In an ammunition Wagon havingan axle for thevcarrying Wheels and an ammunition chest through Which the axle extends, said chest having openings above and below the axle to accommodate ammunition, and said axle having recesses extending transversely therethrough to accommodate ammunition.
3. In an ammunition Wagon having an ammunition chest, an axle for the carrying Wheels of the Wagon having an I-shapedportion extending through the chest, the Web of the I-shaped portion having apertures to accommodate the ammunition.
