Epectneation of Letters Patent.
- iplieetion filed July :25, with. tleriei No. ti'lrtfilttl.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, BERNHARD CLAnsnN, engineer, a subject or" the King of 'Prussia and German Emperor, residing at 23 Holliindischestrasse, in the city of Dortmund,
in the Kingdom ot'Prussia, German Empire, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Aerial Tracks, of which the'tollovving is a specification.
The invention relates to an aerial. support for traveling; cranes, and especially to a construction in which one or more cables comprise the track on which the crane travels.
An object of the invention is to provide :1 traveling cra ne t'or factories, etc., whereby a load may be transported between two reletively distant points one system of cables,
:ires, etc, which are horizontally disposed and, are supported only at their opposite e Ditliculties have been eiipericncecl in provicling long spans of cable tracks and electric conductors supported thereby. I solve the problem by supporting cables at their ends only, and by connecting them at interveils between their ends by spacing beams, which hold the cable tracks for the current collector parallel to each other, and at the some time hold the electric conductors Which are thus supported at intervals, although the cables are supported only at their ends. The celoles support the weight of the conductors at frequent points, thereby maintaining the conductors parallel to each other and holding them steady. The supporting" posts for triecables end conductors may he at great clistencesepart, and yet the conductors neecl have only the diameters required for their electrical "Work.
l ettein the foregoing objects by the mechanism illustrated in the accompanying; drawings, in which siinilnrreference cherasters designate similar parts throughout the several views and in which,
Figure 1 is a side elevation, showing a, fragment: of the track with the current remover thereon, Fig". 2 is e plan View ot Fig l, 3 is e rliegmmmetio enol ,vieW the s ructure seen in 53, the ,ciehles heing in sectien,

I claim:-- 1. In an aerial sin t lel cables snppo heems supports by between. the e ti wires carried rnly .2. In an aerial span of parallel i 1 at intervals salon," loy seidl cables, by said cross heeres, t 5. wheels therefor resti e t, electric contacts emit hearing epon swirl l en oeriel l3 teal hles since porting I is not. ME" v, 3 mum t b (ll. \L- w Pleural cross her of supporting cables spaced in parallel relation by spacer beams secured thereto,- a
' number of electric conductors supported and spaced apart by said spacer beams, insulators intervening the conductors and the said frame and having connection with the frame, curved springs having their middle 10 portion secured to the bar, and sheave wheels on the bar for the'purpose specified. In testimony whereof I have afiixed my signature in resenee of two witnesses.
