This invention relates to improvements in steam gage cocks, and the object. is to provide a cock of simple and improved construction which will operate in anellectivc manner and which is durable in construction.
\Vith the aboveobjcct in view, the invention consists in the novel features of eonstruction hereinafter fully described, particularly pointed out in the claims, and learly illustrated by the accompanying dawing, in which--- Figure 1 a side elevation of a steanr gage cock constructed in accordance 'with my invention: Fig. 2, a longitudinal sectional view through the same, and Fig. 3, a view of the valve-stem.
Referring now more particularly to the drawing, the numeral 1 indicates the body or globe, and 2' the gland threaded upon the upper end thereof, packing 3 being ar ranged at that end for the valve-stems At its lower end the body is formed with a flange 5 and a screw-threaded portion (3 to engage the screw-threaded upper .end of the barrel or shank,7 which is exteriorly threaded at its lower end to screw into the boiler, theflange 6 forming a steam-tight joint. The body is provided with the nipple. 8 as illustrated. The barrel or shank is formed at its lower end with a seat 9 and near its upper end with screw-threads l0 at'the upper end of which is a chamber in which one of the valves carried by the valve stem is movable to engage with a seat 11 formed at. the upper end of the chamber.

1. A steam gage cock comprising a barrel, a body portion removably mounted on.

A steam gage cock comprising a barrel, a body portion removably mounted on said barrel, .a valve-stem threaded into the barrel and having passages therein, valves carried by the stem, one aboye and one below, the threadedconnectionlbf the stem with the barrel, and seats in the barrel and body for said valves.
3. A steam gage cock comprising a bar-- rel, a valve seat formed within said barrel, an internally threaded portion above said adopted '50 co-act with said first menfioned kneaded porhon, and by-pass ports for conducting the fluid past sald threaded port-Ion of the Valve stem.
