To all whom t may concern:
Be it known that I, Orro VVANDEL, of Walpole, in the county of Norfolk and State of Massachusetts, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Pulp-Screening Machines, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to theaccom panying drawings, forming part thereof.
This invent-ion has reference to improvements in machines for screening pulp and particularly to such machines in which the pnl 3 screens are mounted in vibratory arms or tlrames of the generalriature described in Letters Patent No. 955, 25, granted to me April 12, 1910.
The present invention has particular reference to the improved means for limiting the movement of the arm or frame on which the pulp screen is carried.
One object of the invention is to so construct the cooperating members of a buffer device for limiting the vibrator-y movement of the screen carrying member that such device may be more conveniently located and accessible than as heiietofore constructed and that the wearing parts of said butler parts may be readily renewed.
Other objects of the inve tion will appear from the following descr ption.
The invention consists in the novel construction of buffer device and its combination with the frame and arm of a pulp screeninv machine of the n ature described.

By reference to my above mentioned patentI it will be seen that machines of this nature comprise one or more cylindrical rotatable screens which are carried by pivoted arms or frames which, in operation, are caused to vibrate bytmeans of a'carn or cams to effect the agitation ofthe pulp taken up bysaid screens to facilitate the passing of portions of 'said pulp through the screens. In order to reduce the shock of such vibration on the frame of the machine buffers have been located between said arms to yieldingly resist and limit the return movement of said arms toward their cooperating cam, As the buffers, so placed,

As shown in the a 1s drawings the frame similar to the frame 5 of said patent, and is similarly provided with the rocker arm 9 furnished with the cam-face block 12 against which throw cam 16 acts intermittently to throw outward the lower end of Said arm 9. Frame 5 has secured thereto the plate 6 having the stop 7 which plate 6 is located at a point on said frame toward which arm 9 is moved hyeam 1G. Arm 9 has a transverse bore which is in alinment with the bore 8 of stop 7 and secured in said bore of arm 9 is the spindle 10 having t-he shoulder' 11 and screw threaded ends which are respectively provided with the nuts 13, 14 and with thc lock nut 15. On said spindle 10 between the nut 14 and the stop G are the wear resisting plates 17 and 18 having located therebetween the rubber buffer 19 and, between plato 17 and nut 14,
the anvil or shock receiving member 20 which receives the blow from nut 14 on the rct-ractive movement of arm 9 and its spindle 10 while the elastic buffer 19 cushions said shock. By means of such construction I am enabled to plato this butler device in a position where its parts are always acens- -sible for renenal. By simply removing the nuts 14 and 15 the anvil Q0, plate 17 and be removed and the buffer, if worn, can be replaced by a new buier and the plate 17 anvil 2O and nuts 14, 15 replaced.
