Be it known that I, John :C. Sn NNnR, a citizen of the United States, residing .at- Fresno,' in the county of Fresno. and State 5 of California, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Reinforced Display-Receptacles, of which'the following is a specification, reference being had therein tojthe accompanying drawing. 1o; Th 1s invention relates to display and vending receptacles such as are used in grocery stores and the like for containing groceries and other articles to be sold. ' The invention consists of a casing 1.0 which is open at the top as indicated at 11 55v and on this top portion there is fitted a lid 12. This lid has its hinged edge strength- 0 the doorand casing are provided with suitable forms at latch as indicated at 4'3 and it will be plain that the upper portioir'of the front of the casing is likewise provided with suitable glass 44 closing in the opening made in this upper portion. The goods to be displayed can be placed both in the compartmentformed between the partition 2% and the upper part of the front and in the compartment formed between,.the partition 38 and the door so that-these goods can be seen through the glass-in both places, thus making an attractive display. When it is desired to fill the receptacles the lid 12 may be opened and goods placed therein, certain of the goods being arranged in an orderly manner in the compartments just referred to. When the lid of a receptacle is closed other receptacles may be stocked and by means of the door at the lower portion of the front this receptacle can be emptiedor partly emptied at any time without disturbing those superposed thereon. It will be obvious that the door may be placed either at the front or the side'in which latter case necessary modifications will have to be made in the display device.

There has thus been provided a simple and efficient device of the kind described and for the purpose specified.

Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new, is:

In a display receptacle, a casing provided with a shallow compartment having a glass front, a lid attached to the body of the easing and said compartment, :1 door provided with segmental side wings and pivoted along its lower edge closing the lower portion of one side of said casing, said door carrying a shallow compartment, said door being provided with a glass front and a beveled lower end, said lower end being beveled to permit ready withdrawal of the contents of the receptacle, housingfor said Wings, a plate behind the first-mentioned shallow compartment and resting onsaid housings, constituting a retaining plate, said lid being provided around its rim with a reinforcing ring, and guards for retaining said glasses in said compartments.
