To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, ARTHUR K. Bacawrrn, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of Dowagiac, county of Cass, and State of Michigan, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Joints for Stoves or Furnaces, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to improvements in joints for stovesor furnaces-.-

The main objects of this invention are to provide an improved joint in which the parts to'be joined can be readily formed as castings and one in which the joint 1s so formed thatthe packing or cement is easlly inserted inassembling the parts and when the partsare assembled, is positively retained.

Further objects, and objects relating to structural details, will definitely appear from the detailed description to follow.

I ave illustrated my improvements adapted to the 'joint between the top-plate and side wall of a cooking stove but it will be obvious that it can be readily adapted for other relations such as for the joints of furnaces.
