In an adding machine, a wheel comprising a disk provided at its periphery With oppositely extending annular flanges, one of the flanges being of shorter radius than the other, and having an outwardly eX- tending rib at its outer edge provided with teeth or points for engagement by the linger of the operator t0 move the Wheel, a plurality of series of consecutively arranged numerals on the other flange, transverse stops on the first-named flange between the disk andthe lrib between the series of numerals, a swinging pawl arm adjacent to each wheel, each arm having means for engagement by the stops or ribs of the wheel to move the same, and having means for enH gaging the teeth of the succeeding wheel to move the said Wheel.
