By cut-ting away the rear of the back board and placing a bay window bottom therein, I have economized space and constructed a snug place for the ringer. The boards being of metal, it is necessary to turn them up along the edges to give them the desired rigidity. Metal thick enough to furnish such rigidity without turning up along the edges would be too heavy for the purpose. By eliminating the pivot arrangement for the transmitter, I eliminate the wearing effect of the cord caused by bending it when the transmitter is `turned upon this pivot. The clapper guard which is generally made in a separate piece and fastened upon the casing, I cut from the metal of the casing itself, saving several operations thereby. These and other improvements and advantages I contemplate in my improved set.

lVliile I have shown this particu-lar form, it will be obvious to those skilled in the art, that numerous and extensive departures from the form and the details of the apparatus here shown may be made without departing from the spirit of thc invention, the same being herein shown solely for the purpose of clearly illustrating one specific einbodiment thereof.

I ela-iin:

l. In a telephone set, the combination of a hollow wall board, a hollow back board detacliably connected thereto, a ringer mounted on said back board, a condenser mounted on the back board, a hollow front hinged to said bach' board and gongs for said ringer carried by said front, said hollow front inclosing and housing said ringer and said condenser when closed against said back board.

2. In a telephone wall set, the combinat-ion of a 'hollow wall board, a hollow back board detaehably connected thereto, a bay window bottom for said board, a hollow front hinged to said back board, and tele` phone apparatus housed within said frontwlien the same is Closed.
