IMPRQVEMENT IN PIANos.
The Schedule referred te in these Letters Patent and making part of the same,
To all whom it may concern Bel it known that I, CHRISTIAN KURTZMANN. of the city of Buffalo, county of Erie and State of New York, have invented a certain newl `and useful Improvement in Pianos; and I do hereby ticolare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings making a part of this specification, in
which- Figure I is a transverse vertical section. Figure II is a toprplau view.
The nature of this-invention consists in the peculiar' construction andappl'ication of the agralie or bridgeplate of a'piano, by which the bearing for the strings is formed r'niotrthe underside of an overhanging continuous har, which is part of the 'bridge-plate, and' is located and holds the' strings at a point opposite `to where the hammer strikes them, the lo'wer end of said agrae or bridge resting on the sounding-board. y
