Access to `the space orchaniber 24 from the exterior is afforded by a suitable number of-hand-holes 25, there being preferably one of these holes between each pair of fenders 5, and eachof these. holes may be covered normally by a removable plate 26. The crank 2l for each gate is operatively connected to suitable adjusting ineansj For eX- ample, in t-lie present instance each of these cranks .is connected by a link 27 to a rotatable adjusting ring 28, the latter serving to simultaneously adjust all the wicket gates in unison.
