To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I,MAx H. METAL, a citizen of the United States ofAmerica, residing in New York, borough of Brooklyn, county of Kings, and State of New York,

This invention comprises a telescoping coin registering receptacle.
' Referring to the drawings, a re resents an outer box, which is open at its ower end, closed at its upper end and provided in the upper end with a slot a for inserting a dime or other suitable coin to be collected. The
front-plate of the outer box a is provided with a window opening 0 for exposing the numbers on a rotating registering-disk (Z. This disk turns on a center-pivot- 0Z bet-ween the front and rear plates of the box a, said disk being provided on its front-face with the numerals 10 to 90, at intervals of 10, ar-- ranged cquidistantly from each other and in a circle concentric with the axis of the disk so that when the disk is turned these num= hers are shown successively through the opening 0. The disk 03 is also provided with as many teeth or projections e and intermediate slightly-concave depressions c between the same as there are numbers on the disk. The operation of my improved coin-reg i'stering case or receptacle is as follows: T he registering disk (I is set at its initial position by rotating it to bring the zero mark opposite the Window 0 and the notch g is of the disk, then at the'upper part of the box, so as to turn the same, While the successive pressure exerted on the coin-moves it? against the corner-pin f and completes the partial rotation of the disk andi-permits the dropping of the coin into the lower part of i the receptacle. The registering disk being turned in the direction of the arrow, the same is shifted sufiiciently to exhibit the number 1Qthrough the observation-opening 0 Every time a new coin is inserted the registering disk isshifted for a distance of one vtooth until gradually the disk has made a complete rotation when the notch in the rim' of the disk again arrives-in line with the lug I2 and the inner box is automatically released and the receptacle can be opened for the removalof Copies of this patent may be obtained for the coins. The several numerals on the registering disk cl show successively through the observation-opening 0 and indicate thereby at all times how much money there is in the case. This improved registering attachment canbe arranged for coins of other than the 10 cent denomination by increasing the size of the case and registering disk in proportion to the number and size of the coins to be inserted in the case or receptaole.
I claim:
A telescopic coin registering receptacle comprising an outer box having a closed top and an open bottom and provided with a coin slot, a registering disk disposed within "said box adjacent to said coin slot'and provided with a lateral flange having'a notch, and an inner box sliding in said outer box and'having an open top and a closed bottom and provided near its upper end with a lateral lug engaging the inner edge of said flange for locking the receptacle in contracted closed position during the rotation of the disk, said notch permitting the boxes to expand into open position when the reg istering disk reaches a certain point in its rotation. i v
