My invention relates to improvements in nosings for artificial .stone corners and has especial and important advantage: with respeck to street curb nosings and the like.

Vlhile` there have been devised in the past many furnis of nosings for ln'otecting corners, many of these have heen wholly inapplicable and unsuited and practically inoperative when used as nosines for street curbs. And although many forms ot' nosA ings have heen especially designed :tor street curbs, these in the main have been iinpracth cable 'for one or more of several reasons. A practical, ellicient and durable curb nosing, l have found, should he made et a single in- 'teeral bar, with especially strong and eliec'- tive anchoring means integral therewith. Moreover, the structure should he z simple possible and one which may he easily and cheaply manufactured. The cost of such nosing is one ol" the Inostiu'iportant elements when considering; its practicahility. lt has to he used in great quantities, and even a small difference in the cost oit manufacture resolves itself into an item of great importance.

One object oli/my invention. is to provide a nos-.ing tor this purpose which can he very cheaply and easily manufactured, much more so than prior devices, and one which will have an amply strong and su'llicient anchoring` means, this anchoring means to integral with the nosing, thus avoiding use of a large number oi bolts or other connecting devices.

It will he readily understood that the nosings as shown in Figs. l and 2 are inerely short lengths and in actual practice the bars'arc made in much longer lengths with a plurality of anchoring means G sheared out from each har.

In putting the nosings in place, I provide a frog or supporting plate S, having a portion of its top edge as at 9 extending to the top oit the curbing and a portion of its side edge 10 extending to the front of the curbing. Plate 8 also has apertures 9 therein, to securely anchor the saine within the concrete or the like. Plate 8 also has a out away portion as at ll, which is designed t0 engage the sides of the central web 4 of the nosing l and support the nosing in place While the conereteis being filled in about the saine to forni 'the curb. The plates 8 are cnt; away as at l2 in order that these portions ot their edges may not be exposed when the curb is finished. The frogs or plates 8 and the whole o -f the nosinggs l are coated with a suitaoie coating to, prevent theni from rusting before they are finally put into place.
