Be" it known that I, ERNEST HENRY FA s'r, acitizen of the United States, residing at Lexington, in the county of. Oglethorpe'and State of Georgia, have'invented certain new and useful Improvements .in Folding Ironing-Boards, of which the following is a specification.

This invention appertains toimprovements in ironing boards and has for its primary object to provide a substantial device which may be readily folded into a small same in extended operative position, and

other means cooperating with that first mentioned to' lock the tripod against the board in its folded inoperative position. v

.For a full understanding of the present invention, reference is'to be had to the following description and to the accompany- Iing drawings, in which its folded position.

Referring now to the drawings, a device constructed in accordance with my invention consists of a board proper designated 1, having secured on its under surface at the enlarged end portion thereof a cleat or block 2. Hinged to the inner end of the block 2 is a pair of diverging supporting legs 3, connected at their upper portion by means of a transversebar' 5, said legs being ararm 6, which ispreferably bifurcated to receive the upper end of a supporting leg '7 pivotally mounted on the pintle 8.
