Be it known that I, OTTO THIEME, a cit-izen of the United States, residing at St. Louis,-Missouri, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Adjustable Paper-Guide 'Fingers for' Type-Writing Machines,o;f which the following is ,a"full, clear, and exact description, such'as will .enable others skilled in the art to whiehqit appertains to make anduse the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this speciica'tiomfin Whch- "-1 '1 f Figure 1 is a plan view of one' form of my improved device as appliedto the platen of an ordinary typewriter.' Referring to the drawings, the numeral 1 designates the platen of anordinary typewriter mounted' as usual on a traveling carriage.

The guide finger as shown at Fig. 1 is comprised of a strip of resilient material having a guide finger portion 4- curved to embrace the periphery of the platen 1.
