Be it-known that I, GIDEO'N EfNEwooM, of

To separate the' sections, a pointed instrument or awl is inserted in a small aperture between the sec` t tions, and Vpressed against spring c, forcing it out oi'v the recess in section A, when they are readily separated.

'Among the advantages of my invention are, the
ease' and security with which it is attached to thc bootor shoe, its simplicity, chcapness, and durability, and the ease with which it is changed from a smooth to a calked heel, and back again, at the will oi' the wearer.
