lle it known that l, Trinononn ll'vuiss, a citizen of the llcl'nited States, and resident of Chicago, county of Cook, and State of illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Electrical Signalingl Bormes, of which the following is a specie tication, and which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings, forming a partthereof.
The invention relates to devices for giving Warning signal, and is primarily intended for the use of automobile drivers.
'.lhe object of the invention is toprovide a simple but powerful Warning signal; and it consists of an electric `n'1otor,`associated with a diaphragm, with special means, as hereinafter described. for actuating a tapper for rapidly striking the diaphragm to produce the desired sound,

A rotary electric motor 10, of any suit able construction, is carried by a bracketarm 11,- adapted for attachment to an appurtenance, such as the dashboard of an automcbile, or other suitable support- A. chambered casing 12 is secured to the body of the the motor 10 by means of a collar 13,

A diaphragm 16, preferably of metal, is secured Within the casing 12, in a position perpendicular to the shaft 1l' of the motor, the center of the diaphragm being preferably in line with the axis of the shaft. A tapper or hammer 18 is sleeved upon the outer end of the shaft 17, and is free to move longitudinally thereupon. The tapper normally lies out of contact with the diaphragm, but is suiiiciently se thereto so that it may be thrown forci-y J against its face. A pair of rigid arms extend backwardly from the tapper 1S, and are inclined outwardly, and at their inner ends are provided with eyes loosely encircling a pair. of arms 21, 22, pivoted to and projecting radially from collar @El fixed upon the shaft 17. `While` the motor-is shown arranged with its shaft perpendicular to the diaphragm, and this construction is preferred because of its simplicity, ll' do not desire to be limited to this arrangement. but regard my invention suiiiciently broad to include any arrangement of motor 'which will secure the rotation of the tapper-advancing mecha nism shown. indeed, the scope of the invention is suiiicient to include -any other form of mot-or than electrical, it being necessary only that the shaft carrying the advancing arms be given rapid rotation.
