To all whom it may concern:
Be it vknown that I, STEWART BROWN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois', have invented certain new and useful lImprovements in Electric Lighters for .Gas-Burners, of which the following is a specification. y

The'object of the invention is to obtain a device which can be appliedto lamps which are already in use, which will be economical in construction and installation, which consists of few parts, not liable to get out of order or yto be injured, and a device by means o1' Jwhich the vgas flowing from the tips of the burners of said lamps will be ignited byvthe heat generated in a resistance coil by a low volta e electric current on the circuitof "which t c devicej forms an element.

The inner end of the thumb bolt G is forced against the base E by turnin it in one direction in nut g and retracted rom said base on turning it in the opposite direction. The nut g isy preferably attached to the inner face of one end of band F, as by solder, to prevent its loss when the device is being secured to a burner tip. The front face of base E, lettered Hin Fig. 4, is curved to fit reasonably` close to the stem of burner tip A.
