To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, JOHN F. Hamus, a citizen of the United States, residing at Pickens, in the county of Pickens and State of South Carolina, have invented new and useful Improvements in Foot-Pockets, of

which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to foot pockets and more particularly to that type which is adapted to be used in the bed.

The object of the invention is the provision of a receptacle which will be impervious to air and a detachable receptacle lined with a ruffled washable fabric and which may be removed and renovated in any suitable manner.

Further objects of the invention will ap pear as the following specific description is read in connection with the accompanying drawing, which forms a part of this application, and in which Figure 1 is a plan view. Fig. 2 is an edge elevation. Fig. 3 is a sectional view.

Referring more particularly to the drawings, 1 represents a receptacle or bag which 1s constructed of any suitable cloth having the inner and outer layers 2 and 3 connected together at their edges in any suitable manner, as by binding the same with tape, as shown at 4. Between these layers or walls is placed a suitable flexible fabric 5, such as common oilcloth or any other suitable material which is impervious to air, and which is held in place by the line of stitching 6 which connects the tape 4'. and which also connects the edges of the bag.

Removably mounted within the receptacle or bag 1 is a secondary bag 7 which serves as a heat insulator by being lined with any suitable fabric, such as flannel, eider-down, outing or the like, as shown at 8, in which is formed a plurality of plaits or tucks 9 to make a fluffy pocket. 7 is provided with transversely extending flaps 10 having buttonholes 11 therein adapted to engage the buttons 12 on the outer sides of the bag 1. Thus the bag 7 is held in position against accidental removal.

The entire device is of sufficient width to encompass the legs of the user to the knees and itwill be understood that the fastening devices shown may be substituted by any other suitable type, the showing herein being merely conventional.

Having thus described the invention, what I claim as new is A device of the class described comprising a primary sack of rectangular formation and being provided with fastening devices on its outer walls adjacent to the top corners thereof, a secondary sack of double thickness and of the same formation as the primary sack, located therein, the outer side and bottom walls of said secondary sack being spaced from the inner side and bottom walls of said primary sack for the reception of a flexible fabric, a binding tape, means for securing said tape, the inner walls of said secondary sack being tucked throughout their entire length and serving as a heat insulator, flaps provided with fastening means formed integral with said secondary bag and extending over the top edges of the primary sack and flexible fabric and extending downwardly in engagement with the outer walls of said primary sack, the said fastening means cooperating with said fastoners carried by the primary sack and removably securing said secondary sack to said primary sack.
