ments in Blocks, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.
This invention relates to knock down toy houses which are particularly characterized by their strength and simplicity in construction.
The invention contemplates providing a plurality of fiat and angular blocks, said blocks being preferably made of sheet metal; having a paper covering to give said blocks the appearance of brick.
The principal object of providing building blocks such as have been described is for the purpose of readily taking the house apart and packing said blocks in a very small space.
In carrying out theobjects of the invention generally stated above, it will be understood, of course that the essential features thereof are susceptible of changes in detail and structural arrangement, one preferred and practical embodiment being shown in the accompanying drawings, wherein Figure 1 is a side elevation of a house set up. Fig. 2 is a perspective view of two of the angle blocks and one flat block set up to form a separate pillar. Fig. 3 is a top plan view of one of the pillars which comprises the house. Fig. 4: is a top plan view of one of the flat blocks. Fig. 5 is a perspective view showing the way in which the angle blocks are packed when not in use.
Referring specifically to the drawings it will be seen that the invention comprises a plurality of flat base blocks 6 upon which hollow pillars which comprise the rest of the house are built. Each pillar comprises a pair of right angular blocks 7, saidblocks being composed of a pair of strips each having one edge thereof secured to the edge of the adjacent strip.
. positions.
After the ground pillars have been set up upon the base blocks 6, other fiat blocks are mounted upon the top of said pillars and other pillars may be set up upon said fiat blocks in any way desired. In Fig. 1 a
number of pillars are shown resting horizontally upon the ground pillars and are arranged in longitudinal and transverse It will thus be seen from the foregoing description that the toy house is adapted to be readily taken apart and packed away in a very small space, and which will also be obvious from Fig. 5, where it shows how the angle blocks are put together when not in use. It will also be obvious that the blocks and pillars may be set up in many different kinds of design and that a great variety may be attained with comparatively few blocks.
What we claim is 1. A toy house comprising a plurality of flat blocks, and a plurality of angular blocks adapted to be vertically and longitudinally mounted upon said flat blocks to form a number of hollow pillars.
2. A toy building block comprising a thin, fiat strip of stiff material having a similar strip of like material extending at right angles from one longitudinal. edge thereof and rigidly connected therewith.
3. A toy house composed of knock down elements, certain of said elements being in the form of a thin, flat strip, certain other of said elements being provided on one longitudinal edge with a similar strip extending at right angles to the first mentioned strip and rigidly connected therewith, all of said elements being formed of stiff material.
In testimony whereof we hereunto afliX our signatures in presence of two witnesses.
