' LASH & MOORE.
Grain Screen.
No. 10,210. Patented Nov. 8, 1853.
I e n Z0215 Mime . Z 05 i /W W W UNITED STATES PATENT oEEIoE.
ABRAHAM LASI-I AND MILES MOORE, OF BELLEVILLE, OHIO.
SCREEN OF WINNOWERS.
Specification of Letters Patent No. 10,210, dated November 8, 1858.
b all whom it may concern Be it known that we, ABRAHAM LASH and MILEs Moon, of Belleville, in the county of Richland, State of Ohio, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Grain- Cleansing Machines; and we do hereby cleclare that the following is a full and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawings, making a part of this s )ecification, in which F igure 1 is a side view of the shoe; F ig. 2, side view of the cleansers; F ig. 3, front end view of the same; Fig. 4:, back end view.
To enable others skilled in the art to make and use our invention we will proceed to describe its construction and operation.
A, A, Fig. 1, is grooves for the cleanser to slide in; B, issue for foul seed from under the second cleanser, C, Fig. 2, being side frame of cleansers; D, front end board of frame; E E, cleansers fastened to the up per and also to the under side of frame, the frame to be made of sufiicient depth to admit the grain to pass between the cleansers, the top cleanser to be coarse enough to let the grain pass freely through and to carry off all filth that is larger than the grain, which prepares the grain better for receiving the blast on the second cleanser. The
grain passes over it and receives the blast from the fans as it falls from the cleanser to the screen that is attached to the bottom of the shoe. C C, Fig. 3, end of side frame for cleansers; H, H, H, flutes in the first or upper cleanser, which keeps the grain continually rolling by the vibratory motion of the shoe, thereby obviating the grand difficulty of choking or clogging, adifficulty that attends all plain riddles or screens. The same may be said of the second or lower cleanser. D, front end board of frame; K, K, flutes in the second or under cleanser; H, H, H, Fig. 4, flutes in the back end of first or top cleanser.
The same letters refer to like parts in all figures.
We do not claim any form of any mill or shoe; but
hat we do claim as new and our original invention and desire to secure by Letters Patent is- The two fluted cleansers or their equivalents and the combination of said cleansers as fully set forth and described. The same may be used in any common winnowinp; machine.
