NELSON H. DOWNS, OF BIRMINGHAM, CONNECTICUT.
IMPROVEMENT IN CONCRETE PAVEMENTS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 102,097 dated April 19, 1870.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, NELsoN H. DowNs, of Birmingham, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new Improvement in Concrete Pavement; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same.
This invention relates to an improvement in concrete pavements for walks, roads, &c., and consists in the combination of gravel, ashes, tar, and guano.
I prepare the compound by mixing three parts gravel, one part ashes, one part coal or wood tar, and then to this compound I add described.
