Be itknown that I, STEPHEN N. CORN- WALL, 'a citizen of the United States, and'a resident of Springfield, in the county of Greene and State of Missouri, have invented a new Improvementin Curbing, &c.,
ofwhich the following is a full, clear, and
r exact description.
'My invention is animprovement in curbing systems, and has for its object the provision of. a simple and inexpensive form construction for aiding in the laying of plastic curbing and the like which may be easily set up and taken down, ma be used indefinitely and which will be capable of many adjustments for constructions of different size andshape.

In the present construction, the form is composed of a plurality of plates or boards 1 0 suitable width, length and thickness has at one end a substantially V-shaped groove 2-extending thefull width of the end, and at the other end, the board is cut away or beveled at each side as indicated at 3, to fit the groove of the adjacent board. The boards are sup-ported at each end by means of the frame 4 shown in Fig. 4.
Each of the said frames is of rectangular form, and in.one.side a threaded opening is provided for receiving a bolt 5. A set screw 6 is threaded through an opening in one end of each frame, the bolt and set screw being at right-angles to each other. The frames are held to the 'ends of the A boards by means of the bolt 5 which is passed through anopening in the end of the board an'dis then threadedv into the 'frame. The head 7 of the bolt' is countersunk, as shown in Fig. 2, -and a stake 8 of 'iron or the'like is driven through the frame int o =th e ground. The boards and stakes vare arranged at the proper incline to agree --tically on the stakes "tothe proper height,
'afterwhich they are held in place by clampwith the slant'of the adjacent facelof the curb, and the boards are then adjusted vering the set screws on the stakes.

each having its side edges 11 and 12 inclined toward each other to correspond with the angles of the faces of the curbing to the vertical,- and at its upper. end each templet has a hook 10 for engaging over the edge of the boards 1. The templets are arranged at distances from each other sufiicient' to support the boards properly against I the pressure of the plasticmaterial, and
plates or boards 13 ofless width than boards 1 are arranged on the opposite edges of the templets. The boards 13 are supported by hangers 14, one of which is pivoted at one end to each templet, as indicated at 15, Figs. 1 and 2. Each hanger is in the form of a bar having one end pivoted to the board as above mentioned, and provided at the opposite end with an upwardly extending lug or stop 16. such length and so arranged with respect to the templets that there is just sufficient distance between the innerface of lug 16 and the adjacent edge 11 of the templet to receive a plate 13 as shown more especially in Fig. 2.
If there isany tendency on the part of the boards 1 and -13 to spring apart, or of' the boards 13 to drop down, clamps 17 may be arranged at the templets, or at other suitable points. The clamps 17 are of usual form, and are arranged to press the board 13 toward the boards 1-.
I Then the form is set up as described, the ground is cut away thewidth of the curb plus the thickness of boards, as indicated at 18 in Fig. 2, and'the soil is cut away at the side of the cut. 18 adjacent to boards 13 t0 aline with the inner face of the said boards. The plastic material is then tamped into the form between the templets, and the top coat-is spread on. The clamps 17 are removed first, after which boards 13 may be removed, and the face of the curbing is finished by brushing over in the usual manner.
