a new. and Improved Insect-Escape for Screens, of which the following is a. full, clear, and exact descriptionp' i I The invention relates to screen's, articularly door and window screens, and as for an object to rovide an escape screen whereby flies or t e like can find exit from a chamber and are prevented from enteringthe chamber from the outside.
For the purpose mentioned use is made of a screen provided with apertures and a closure mounted on theframe of the screen to close the said apertures with'means for normally holding the closure away from the apertures.

From the foregoing description it will he seen that a substantial and efiicicnt escape for insects is provided and the same is also adopted to prevent the insects from outerin a room or chamber through the screen.

Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent:
In a device of the class describcdm frame, a screen secured to the frame, strips extending across the frame and secured to the ends thereof, the said strips being on one side of the screen, a plurality of apertures within the screen and between he said strips, a closure member hinged on the said frame, the screen being positioned between the strips and the closure member, the said member in normal osition lying closely adjacent the said strips whereby the openings in the screen are covered,aspriugcatch carried by the said frame and remote from the said closure member whereby the said member may be moved on its hinges to uncover the openings in the screen and may be held in such position by engagement with the spring catch.
