ACTION oo., -Aj CORPORATION OF NEW YORK.
PIANO-PLAYER ATTAOHMENT.
Speciiea'ti'on of IiettersIPat'ent. Appiicati'oii'iee octoberm, Ie'fo. seriai'Nq.
To all whom-'it concern:
vBe it known that I, RAY a citizen Vof the United States, Vresidingin the" borough of Manhattan, in' the county fof 'New York and State of New York, have 1n# ventedcertain new and useful Improvements in Piano-'Player Attachnuentsav of which the following-is a speciicat1on,'ref
'i erence being. had thereinzto the accompany--v 1ov Y ing drawing. My invention relates to improvements in piano player attachments and hasA particular, reference to a sheet adjusting mechanism is a broken section illustrating on an en-A larged View the'left side of the'same.A
3 is the tracker board'having 'a bar 4 eX- tendinglongitudinally, within the same and carrying suitably lmounted thereon as shown, the beveled Wheels --a provided with springs 6-.6a which are retained -by the projections 7*7 secured to the bar 4..'
8-8a are openings in the ends of the tracker board within which the b ar 4 is mounted. 10-1OBL are lthe brackets of the shifting mechanism. Thesev brackets are provided with ar1ns 1111 carryingthe'-bar12 which Ais secured to the movable section 13 of the pneumatic 14;-15 from which air is constantly exhausted by the tube 16. V'Ivhe operation of the device is such that-'if the sheet of music sh'ifts'to the left looking a'tFigJl, it causes the wheel 5 -to travel left- Ward 'upon the bar 4 against slight spring pressure.- In moving leftward the bar 4' -opens the passage 17? allowing the atmos-V phere to enterithrough the opening 8EL passing through ,the tube 18 to the Vpneumatic 15., whichA causes the partition 1'3' to move which it is secured and .which is in turn secured. to the tracker. board 3 'through the connections' and 11 by shifting the mechanism and a tracker board, a
tracker board to correspond with the sheet Patented Feb. '20,1912
and causing .the perforatlons therein to register.- Likewise whenlthe-sheetshifts to the right it causes the wheel 5% to slide upon the'v bare causing the s" ring 6SL to bear against the projection 7a su ciently to move the bar. 1 -rightwardly thereby establishing' communicat-ionwfrom the atmosphere through the passage 8 intothe -tube 18. This allows air, to ence-r the chamber-14 causingthe partition 13y to travel rightwardly thereby caus ing thev bar 12 to travel in the same direc` tion and through the arm 11"'andA bracket lto draw .the tracker board rightWardly untilv the-'perforations in the sheet registerwith the'openings in the tracker board.
O courseit will be understood that various modifications may be made without departing 'from the spirit of the' invention as' set forth in the claims.
I claim:
1. In "combination with lsheet adjusting. mechanismand' a tracker board, slidable' members provided with rotatable stops adapted to bear against the opposite edges of the sheet, said slidable'inembers being adapted to control the flow of air through a pneumatic, and meanslin combination with the same whereby said tracker is moved corresponding y as said-sheet moves out ofits normal course.. Q
2. In combination with sheet adjusting mechanismand. a tracker board, slidable members provided with rotatable stops adapted to bear-against the opposite edges of the 'sheen-said slidable members being adapted to control the'flowof air through a pneumatic, and meansin combination withvv the same whereby said tracker is moved correspondingly vas said sheet moves out of its normal'course, said means comprising connection between the movable part of said pneumatic and said tracker, board, and
means for admitting, air to'said pneumatic when either 'of saidrotatable stops of said of said sheet.
3. In combination with sheet adjusting sheet,an
yslidable members are moved by either edge slidemechanism :idapted to be moved there In `testimony whereof I n'irg my'sgl'latme by, said slide mechanism having n resl in presence of two witnesses. 4lently retzuned splndle adap'fedto control the DAY f. 'i12 HOW of au' through the pneumzptle of sind A X u *5C/O1 5 sheet adgustmg meohamsm whereby sold VVlnesses:
