a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, county of Cook, and State of Illinois, have invented new and useful Improvements in Faucets of the Class Adapted to Qiose with the Pressure, of which the following is a specification.
' My invention has for its objects a faucet provided with an operating handle that is handy, this I attain by substituting for the turnipg handle in the old Fuller faucet a push and pull type and substituting for the l `'single bearing crank spindle a double bear- 15,/ ing rock shaft which makes a stronger backing for the valve stem, and renders the faucet more easily operative under high pressures the definition of which is exemplified in the accompanying drawings and specifications.

In Fig, 2 it will be observed that the eccentric position of the rock shaft lies within the circumference of the annular hubs carried by the handle members, and when the handle is moved to open the faucet the rock shaft stays in the position put and the water pressure no matter how strong cannot turn it back and that is why. the force of the water pressure is not felt on the operating handle when moved making it easy to push and pull.
