To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, FERNANDO PEREZ, a subject of the King of Spain, and a resident of Adra, in the Province of Almeria, Spain, have invented a new and Improved Safety- Razor and Corn-Knife, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.

My invention relates to'a new and improved form of combined safety razor and corn knife, and an object of my invention is to provide a device of this character, which possesses all of the advantages of the safety razors now in common use, and additionally affords a means whereby the razor may be readily cleaned.

A further object is to provide a razor of open-work construction,'so as to prevent the accumulation of lather on the working face of the razor while shaving.

A still further object is to provide a razor in which the several relatively thin parts are reinforced.

With these and other objects in view, as will more fully hereinafter appear, the present invention consists in certain novel details of construction and arrangement of 'parts hereinafter fully described, illustrated 1n the accompanying drawings and more particularly pointed out in the appended claim.

Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, in which similar characters of ref-- erence indicate corresponding parts in all the figures, and in which Figure 1 is a perspective view looking down upon my assembled razor; Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the same, the upper partsshown in section, to disclose the means for assembling thedifi'erent parts; Fig. 3 is a perspective view looking down upon the blade holder; Fig. 4 is a similar view of the blade; and Fig. 5 is a perspective view of the holding plate.

In the drawings, I have disclosed an ordinary form of a hollow razor blade handle 1, the bore 2 of which has screws 3 at its upper portion, into which fits the threaded shank 4 of a skeleton bearing plate 5, which plate has radiating webs 6, and has lugs 7 projecting downwardly, which vlugs project through apertures 8 and 9 in the blade 10 1 is a substantially square blade-holder 11,

comprising outer strips 13, the edge 14- of which is downwardly curved. The strips are united by integral intersecting radiallydisposed webs 15. At the point of intersection of these webs, and centrall of the blade holder, is an aperture 17 'a apted to fit over the aperture 16 in the blade holder 11. The shank 4: of the plate 5 passes through the alined apertures 16 and 17, and screws down into the threaded end of the handle to firmly bind the blade andblade holder to the handle, with the lugs 7 passing through the'apertures 8 and .9. As the webs 6, 15 and 18 on the several members are similarly constructed and are superposed in juxtaposition, a series of openings 19 will extend between the same and clear through the blade and blade holder, thereby preventing the accumulation of lather on in configuration to the blade 10 and blade holder 11.

Many changes could be made in the above construction and many apparently widely different embodiments of this invention could be made without de arting from the scope thereof. It is inten ed that all matters contained herein in the above description or shown in the accompanying drawings shall be interpreted as illustrative and not in a limiting sense.
