Be it known that I, ABRAHAMI PIKOOS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Baltimore, in the State-of Maryland, have in- .bling.
vented new and useful Improvements in Electric Sockets, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates tov electrical sockets and especially to that type which are used for incandescent lamps.
The principal object of the invention is to provide a simple-and inexpensive device of this character which embodies an efiective and simple switch.
Further objects of the invention will ap-- pear as thev following specific description is read in connection with the accompanying drawing, which forms a part of this application, and in which Figure 1 is a side elevation.

The lower end of this terminal plate is bent inwardly, as shown at 14;, and lies over a mica insulating disk 15 and holds the same in place against the bottom of the head 1 The casing 16 is mounted over the head 1 and is insulated from the sleeve-7 by a suitable insulation 17, such as a mica sleeve or the-like. The casing is held to the head by means'of screws 18 which also hold the fin-. ishing cap 19 to the head, as shown. The casing 16 isslottcd, as shown at 20, to permit the passage of the screw 5.
When the ordinary incandescent globeis inserted in the sleeve with its head abutting the terminal plate 1 2 and the screw end contacting the plate 3, the circuit is complete.
By simply unscrewing the screw in the plate '6 the circuit is broken and the lamp thereby extinguished. f y I Having thus described the invention, what I claim as new is 1.' An electrical socket comprising an in-' sulating support-ing head, line terminal -members carried thereby, a sleeve terminal,-
means for securing, the sleeve terminal to the head, a switch terminal clamped to the head by said sleeve terminal, and'a switch member carried by said terminal and adapted to contact with one of the line terminals.
2. In anelectric socket, an insulating head, line terminals carried thereby, a sleeve terminal surroundin one end of one .of the terminals, a switc terminal, means-for securing the switch terminal and sleeve termi;
nal to the head, and a switch member'carried by the switch terminal and adapted to engage the other line terminal.
3. An incandescent socket comprising an insulating head having slots therein, line terminals seated ,in said slots, one of said line terminals having its end turned ,under the head, a lamp sleeve terminal, bolts passing through the head for securing said lamp sleeve terminal thereto, a switch terminal clamped between the head and lamp sleeve terminal, and a switch member comprising a screw threaded into the switch terminal and adapted to engage the other lamp terminal.
