-To all whom 'it may concern:

Beit known that I, JAMES B. PA'i'rERsoN, a citizen oi the United States, residing at the city of Philadelphia, in the county of lhiladelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in SuspensioneCouches, of which the following .is a specification.

The principal object of the present inventionlis to provide a couch suspension which shall be strong and attractive and in which the cover and back and end Wind shields can be readily detached for washing and `thereafter can be again attached and in which the back wind shield can be'applied at either side of the couch.

In the accompanying drawings which illustrate a couch embodying features of the invention Figure 1, is a perspective view of the couch. Fig. 2, is a perspective view of one corner of the couch showing the parts detached, and Fig. 3, is a View, partly. in

In the drawings` 1, are top rails and 2, are bottom rails. i

.3, is a corner fitting applied to the top rail and provided with an upturned hooke, and with a button 5.

6, is a cornerftting applied to the bottom rails and provided `with a button 7 a down turned hook 8, F ig. 3, and a downwardly opening notch 9. 10, is a link connecting said corner ittings.

12, is an end Wind shield having marginal rods 13 and 14; adapted respectively to the uptiirned hook 4, and to the downwardly opening notch 9. y

15, 1s a back Wind shield having ymarginal rods 16 and 17, and anv upturned loop 18, and a 'downturned loop 19adapted respectively to the buttons 5 and 7 20, is a seat cover having a marginal rod- 21 adapted to the downturned hooks 8.

Evidently the end wind shields 12` can be detached from the corner fittings ani the rods 13 and 14, can be withdrawn so that they wind shields canbe Washed. This is also truc of the back wind shield f5, in con nection with which, however, the castings that are provided with loops 18 and 19, can be detached by loosening the clamping nuts 22. In a similar manner the seat cover 20,'

can be detached. The back windshield can be applied to either side of the hammo( k by unbuttoning it from one side and applying it to the corner fittings at the other sid e.

It is to be understood that in speaking of the engagement of the rods 13 and 14 and 21, with various provisions of the corner` ittings it 'is meant that the end portiors of these rods project from the fabric and engage with the various fittings.

What I claim is:

In a 4couch suspension the combination of top and bottom rails, a corner fitting appliedto the top rails and provided Witi an upturnedhook and a button, a corner fitting applied to the bottom rails and provided with a button and a downturned hook and a downwardly opening notch, a link connecting said fittings, an end wind shieldhaving marginal. rods adapted respectivelyT to the nptiirned hook and the downwardly open ing notch, a back having marginal rods and npturned and downturned loops adapted to thevbuttons, and a cover having a marginal rod 'adapted' to the downturned hook, substantiallyas described.
