MECHANICAL MOVEMENT FOR ORE CONCENTRATING AND SEPARATING APPARATUS.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Oct. 24, 1911.
Application filed March 29, 1910. Serial No. 552,230.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, F RANQOIS DALLE- MAGNE, citizen of France, residing at Pasajes, in the Kingdom of Spain, have invented new and useful Improvements in Mechanical Movement for Ore Concentrating and Separating Apparatus, of which the following is a specification.
This invention consists in improvements in ore concentrating and separating apparatus of the kind described in my Patent No. 953,900 dated April 5, 1910.
The principal object of the invention is an improved form of the device described in the specification of the aforesaid patent for modifying the form of the circular movement given to the platform.
The improved device instead of being formed by a sector of which the point of connection with its operating lever can be varied is formed by an eccentric, the same variations of movement being obtained by varying the setting angle of the eccentric with regard to the operating lever.
The invention also comprises means for compensating inertia in the whole of the machine.
In the annexed drawing: Figure 1 is an elevation of the ore concentrating and separating machine with the device forming the object of the invention mounted thereon. Fig. 2 is an elevation of the device on a larger scale. Fig. 3 is a horizontal section of Fig. 2 and Fig. 4 an end view of the same.
On the cross shaft a mounted in suitable bearings an eccentric b is keyed around which a bracket 0 which supports the table can turn freely.
The eccentric Z; is fixed to a sleeve (Z mounted on the shaft (4 and fixed to a recessed plate 6. In the recess of this plate a disk f is mounted fixed to a crank g and secured in place on said plate by means of bolts h h. The plate 6 is provided with slots 1' concentric with the shaft a, which allows of turning it around the disk f to vary the setting angle of the eccentric b. The eccentric b is oscillated by the crank g, the oscillating movement being transmitted to the transverse shafts a (Fig. 1) parallel to the shaft a. For this purpose the shafts a also carry eccentrics around which the brackets c supporting the platform can turn freely. These eccentrics are provided with ank j j nnected. by a rod The crank j as well as the cranks j are formed on sleeves Z (Figs. 3 and 4) made integral with the eccentrics Z).
The crank g which actuates the eccentric b is given an oscillating movement by means of a slide block Z mounted on the fly wheel r of the motor shaft 8.
It can be understood from the foregoing description that by varying the setting angle of the eccentric b the platform can be given movements of varied forms as with the apparatus forming the object of the principal patent. The invention also provides means for facilitating the back stroke of the rod 70 so as to compensate the action of inertia, the said means consisting in a spring m fixed at one end to the movable frame P and at the other end to the frame 12.
Having now described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. In an ore concentrating and separating apparatus the combination of a stationary frame a, a movable frame 1) arranged above said stationary frame, cross shafts a a parallel one with each other and journaled in the stationary frame, eccentrics fixed on the cross shafts, brackets loosely mounted on said eccentrics and fixed to the movable frame, cranks j j made integral with the eccentrics, a rod 70 connecting said cranks, operating means for imparting to the eccentric 6 fixed 011 the first cross shaft a an oscillating movement, and means adapted to vary the setting angle of said eccentric b with relation to its operating means, substantially as described and for the purpose set forth.
2. In an ore concentrating and separating apparatus the combination of a stationary frame a, a movable frame 79 arranged above said stationary frame, cross shafts a a parallel one with each other and journaled in the stationary frame, eccentrics fixed on the cross shafts, brackets c c loosely mounted on said eccentrics and fixed to the movable frame, cranks j 7" made integral with the eccentrics, a rod 10 connecting said cranks, a recessed plate 6 ,made integral with the eccentric I? fixed on the first cross shaft a, a disk f mounted in the recess of said plate 6, a crank g fixed to said disk f, means for securing the disk f in the recessed plate e and for varying the angular position of the latter with rela n t the former, and means for imparting to the crank 9 an oscillating movement, substantially as described and for the purpose set forth.
3. In an ore concentrating and separating apparatus the combination of a stationary frame a, a movable frame 2) arranged above said stationary frame, cross shafts a a parallel one with each other and journaled in the stationary frame, eccentrics fixed on the cross shafts, brackets c c loosely mounted on said eccentrics and fixed to the movable frame, sleeves made integral with the eccentrics, cranks j formed on said sleeves, a rod in connecting said cranks, a recessed plate 6 made integral with the eccentric Z) fixed on the first cross shaft a, a disk f mounted in the recess of said plate 6, a crank g fixed to said disk f, slots 2' formed in said plate concentric with the shaft a, bolts 7L traversing said slots and adapted to se cure the disk f in the recessed plate after it has been set in its desired angular position with relation to the disk, and a slide block Z engaging the crank g and mounted on the fly wheel of the motor shaft so as to impart an oscillating movement to said crank g, substantially as described and for the purpose set forth.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
