water heaters and purifiers, and has for its principal objects; the provision of animproved feed water purifier which 1s entirely closed in order to prevent the spilling of the contents thereof; the, provision of an improved feed water heater and purifier composed of sections detachably held together so that the'parts may be readily assembled and put in place, and as readily taken apart for cleaning; the provision of improved means for securing together and supporting the sections of a sectional feed water purifier; and in general the provision of a device of the character specified which is simple in construction and efiective in'opersrtion and aarticularly applicable for use on marine oilers. In a boiler, a sectional heater tank in the normal steam space of the boiler and extending longitudinally therein, joining membersin the sections, said joining members being provided with integral bafile plates oppositely disposed one to the other, an inlet leading into one end of the tank from the exterior of the boiler, an outlet leading into the boiler from the other end of the tank, a plurality of pipes leading from different points along the lower portion of the tank and a common blow out pipe connected to such pipes and leading to the exterior of the boiler.
16. A feed water heater comprising in combination, a horizontal tank com osed of sheet metal sections,
live steam to the tank, a blow-out pipe le ,ing from the lower portion of the tank, a downwardly opening pocket inside one of the heads in the tank, a feed water inlet opening into said pocket, and a feed water outlet.
