In apparatus for drying air by refrigeration, a cooling chamber having a series of refrigerating pipes therein, the pipes nearest the side wallsbeing spaced apart from said walls,' the o positc side walls having deflectors exten ing toward the nearest pipes and terminating at o1` adjacent thereto to allow a straight upward flow of the air while preventing it from channeling along the side walls, substantially as described.
