Be it known that I, JAMES MCKAY, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Pleasure-Railways, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to pleasure or amusement railways suitable for parks, sea-side resorts or the like; and in such relation, it consists, first, in the character of the vehicle and in the manner of connecting and disconnecting to and from operating mechanism therefor; and second, it consists in the particular constructive arrangement of the operating mechanism, for such pleasure railway vehicles.

My present invention will be more fully understood from the following description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings forming part hereof, in which Figure l, is a side elevational view of a pleasure railway embodying particular main features of my said invention. Fig. 2, is a vertical sectional view on the line 2, 2, of Fig. 1. Fig. 3, is a detached plan view of the traveler-guide wheel and eye-bar for engaging therein the vehicle impelling means and sprocket-chain. Having thus described the nature and objects of my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is 1. In a pleasure railway, a slotted platform, a vehicle carried thereon and having a device depending from an axle through said slotted platform, traveler means located beneath said platform and having an eyebar to engage the depending device of said vehicle and means for actuating said traveler means, substantially as and for the purposes described.

2. In a pleasure railway, a slotted supported platform, a vehicle having depending bars extending from the axles thereof through said slotted platform, rails carrying a grooved wheel with a recessed eye-bar located beneath the platform and to one side of the slot thereof, a sprocket-chain carried in the recess of said bar and a sprocketwheel, and means to actuate said wheel, substantially as and for the purposes described.
