Abstract
A method for determining a destruction degree of textile material by the machine needle is that a sample is sewn by the machine needle without a thread in the area of 180 mm long by conventional parallel lines across the sample at a distance of 10 mm from each other, a destruction degree of the textile material is determined by testing on a tensile machine with the clamping length of 100 mm, fixing the breaking load. A new evaluation criterion is introduced - the breathability coefficient, relationship between the change in the breathability coefficient, bursting characteristics, needle number, stitch length and number of rows is set. The textile material (except for non-woven and knitted fabrics) is believed to be undefeated, if obtained results of the breathability coefficient ranging between 0-30% and rupture characteristics - 0-10%.
