Abstract
The invention relates to processing coal for energy and production needs, in particular to producing, from coal, heat and a high-calorific solid fuel (coke) for metallurgy, power engineering and other industries. The coal processing method involves using coal of fraction 0-35 mm as an initial raw material and processing the coal successively in two sections a boiling layer, which sections are separated by a barrier. A thermal-oxidative process associated with air supply is carried out in the first section at a temperature of 650-800 °C, the produced coke being cooled in the second section by supplying water steam of cooled smoke fumes thereto. The device for carrying out the inventive method is used as an apparatus with a boiling layer and is designed in the form of a boiler unit, in which the furnace consists of two sections of a boiling layer, which sections being separated by a barrier, wherein air is supplied to the first section and water steam or cooled smoke fumes are supplied to the second section.
