Abstract
A method for diagnosing renal disease in patients with hypertension comprises determining glomerular filtration rate and urinary albumin. Additionally are determined the neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL), interleukin-18 (IL-18) in blood and urine. If the glomerular filtration rate is <60 mL / min. / 1.73 m2, the amount of albumin in urine > 300 mg / day, NGAL of blood serum is above 5 ng / ml, urine NGAL above 5,5 ng / ml, IL-18 in serum above 600 pg / mL, then kidney disease in hypertensive patients is diagnosed.
