Abstract

A method of hydrogen refining flake susceptible molten steel includes blowing with argon in a casting section of an intermediate ladle in bubbling mode through hollow blocks. When casting the first heat blowing is carried out with argon flow rate 7.1 ÷7.8 l/(t·min), during casting the next four heats in a series the flow rate of argon EMBED Equation.3 per 1 ton of intermediate ladle capacity makes as follows: EMBED Equation.3   , l/(t·min), wherein 7.1 ÷7.8 - specific flow rate of inert gas during the casting of the first heat, l/(t·min); E – capacity of ladle, t; EMBED Equation.3 - density of solid steel, t/m3; n - number of throats of a continuous casting machine; a and b - thickness and width of a blank respectively, m; V - working speed of extraction of blanks, m/min; EMBED Equation.3 - duration of casting, min; and during casting the next heats and until the end of the series EMBED Equation.3 remains within 3.2 ÷ 3.5 l/( t·min).
