Abstract
An invention relates to the process for preparation of polyunsaturated fatty acids in organism by means of introduction into organism of at least one sequence of nucleic acid, coding Δ-9-elongase or Δ-6-desaturase activity, and introduction into organism of at least one sequence of nucleic acid, coding Δ-8-desaturase or Δ-6-elongase activity, and introduction into organism of at least one sequence of nucleic acid, coding Δ-5-desaturase activity, and introduction into organism of at least one sequence of nucleic acid, coding Δ-5-elongase activity, and introduction into organism of at least one sequence of nucleic acid, coding Δ-4-desaturase activity. Also the invention relates to the oils, lipids and/or fatty acids, obtained by the mentioned method, and to the transgenic organisms, containing the mentioned sequences.
