Abstract

The invention relates to macromolecular chemistry, in particular to methods for formation of surface polymeric layers using polymerization from substrate surface, and can be used in microelectronics, optics, paint-and-varnish industry. A process for the modification of АlОinorganic substrate surface involves functionalization thereof by adsorption of polymerization initiator on its surface followed by methyl methacrylate polymerization from the surface. Cobalt (III) acetylacetonate is used as polymerization initiator. The invention enables to localize polymerization process in interphase layer with formation of short and thick polymeric brushes and to exclude formation of polymer in bulk. The process of functionalization by absorption is characterized by high rate.
