Abstract
The invention is directed at fighting pests in food products, packages, transport means and locations used for processing, storing and long-term transporting said products and at exterminating field pests. The inventive method consists in using a composition containing a metal phosphide and a substance delaying the interaction thereof with the moisture of the environmental air, in bringing said composition into contact with the moisture of the environmental air, in dispersing the composition during a contacting phase and in producing the interaction of the composition particles with the air moisture in such a way that a phosphine is obtained. Another variant consists in bringing a composition consisting of adsorbed phosphine and a substance delaying the phosphine separating process into contact with the environmental air moisture and in dispersing it during said process. A subsequent variant consists in bringing a composition consisting of the adsorbed phosphine-containing substance into contact with the environmental air moisture during dispersion. In said composition, the metal phosphide and substance delaying the interaction thereof with the moisture of the environmental air or the adsorbed phosphine-containing substance and the substance delaying the phosphine separation are present in conditions which enable the composition to be dispersed. The fumigation method consists in depressurising a composition container and in supplying said composition to the diffusing unit of the device. The other variant of the method consists in forming the concentration phosphine gas field in the internal volume of an object to be fumigated and in filling said volume with e dispersed composition which is capable of adsorbing and/or absorbing the phosphine gas from the volume. The invention makes і possible to carry out a rapid and efficient fumigation of poor sealed locations and to exterminate pest insects on open spaces.
