Additionally the silicon probe is modified with thin carbon coating, with scanning the specimen, and nano-indentation of surface is performed at continuously increasing load, with fixation of the approach-retraction curve, and by means of the curve the depth of penetration of the probe to the specimen is determined, with determination of the area of contact between the probe and the surface of material under investigation, and by the parameters obtained micro-hardness is estimated.
